"I continue to be amazed at the quality of the Ste•••art brand. Each time I purchase one of their watches I find myself surprised by the quality of the watch for the price paid. This is especially true with the Ste•••art Militare UT 6498. First a few specs on the watch. Features: Case: Stainless steel Size: 42 mm, including crown 50 mm Dial: Black. Markers with luminova green Glass: Sapphire crystal Back: See through back Strap: 22 mm black leather Clasp: Stainless steel with butterfly clasp Water Resistance: 50 meters The watch comes in a beautiful black piano finish box Movement: Calibre: Unitas 6498 Manual wind; 17 jewels; Power Reserve 42 hours I own a Auguste Reymond watch with the same movement that lists for $990. I set them up side by side and I'm going to have to let the Auguste go. I'm so much happier with the Militare UT that I can't imagine putting the Auguste Reymond back on my wrist. I looked at the Stowa as well and while I was impressed by the watch itself I am sure that the Ste•••art, with half of the list price, is a better quality buy. Again I have to also mention the quality customer service I've received from Jon, Elsa, and the others at Ste•••art. Never have I felt so personally taken care of by a company, including Ernst Benz who up until recently was an hour drive away. Again the watch arrives in the piano box and love the quality of the presentation. The movement was very smooth. I watched the movement, listened to it, and compared over 2 days the power reserve with my Auguste. The Ste•••art beat it by 5 hours, even though they list the same reserve. It lost 3 seconds in 3 days (it went over the reserve by several hours) while the Auguste lost 9 seconds. The strap and deployant are a unique blend and I've come to the conclusion that I have to add a deployant to all of my leather straps. I'd like to close by encouraging each of you to check out the brand and the watch, combined with my Aircraft 8 and Grand Marquis I believe I have a collection of fine time pieces that fight for wrist time with both my Omega and Brietling, and have thus far required no services as compared to the $600 I put into my Breitling last month, and trust me I really felt the pain as I'd planned to buy another Ste•••art with that money! This company is one of the best if not the best I've encountered and the quality of the watch is unmatched by others at the same quality level and surely the best "buy for the money" of all that I've found.
