"Mach 1 Chronographs are built to exacting specifications. These watches are designed to meet the needs of businessmen in the office or discriminating sportsmen in the field.

Once you close the clasp around you wrist, you’ll immediately feel the care and detail that went into the manufacture of these timepieces.

The large case holds the goods for these chronographs. The Mach 1 series are some of our flagship models. Hence they come with the features you’d expect from a world class chronograph.

One of the major advantages of these chronographs are the movements used in them. A basic ETA 2824-2 is used by the Dubois Depraz factory to complete each movement to their DD 2020 specifications using a mechanical chronograph module execution with 3 counters. This highly desirable 21-jewel movement has a power reserve of 42 hours and is highly sought after for use in Swiss made chronographs.

The black bezel model sport 3 registers, 2 of which have Mother of Pearl backgrounds. These dials are difficult to photograph to get the true beauty to come through. Nonetheless, when you see it in person, you will appreciate this nice touch of added class the MOP sub dials add to the overall beauty of the watch.

The number scales on the bezels of both chronographs are easy to read and nicely done. The screw down pushers operate the chronograph functions. They are comparatively large and easy to manipulate. Simply unscrew the rings fully to operate the pushers. When finished, screw the rings back into the case to maintain the water resistant rating of 1000 feet.

The other new Mach 1 model has a stainless steel bezel. From the striking finish on the bezel edge to the brilliant finish on the hour markers and hands, this timepiece bespeaks of class and purpose.

Both models have finely crafted cases and screw down case backs. The bracelets of these two chronographs are works of art in their own right. Each bracelet comes with screw links and large solid end pieces to accommodate the thicker case needed to house the movement. As usual for Ste•••art, the bracelet is extra long and consists of 15 links as well as minor adjustment holes in the folding clasp. These features combine to allow for a comfortable fit for virtually any size wrist and without the hair pulling tendency of other bracelets of lesser quality.

When you search for a chronograph you have many models to choose from. We don’t think you’ll be able to find one with the quality and value of the Mach 1 Series. The price of $925.00 makes these chronographs an even greater value. Ste•••art continues to make choices easier for the discriminating watch buyer. Their motto of "More Watch for the Money" is displayed throughout their line of Swiss made watches.
