"As soon as I saw the "Marine Timer" on the website I ordered one. It arrived in three days and I was NOT disappointed! (Often I am.) It's everything I hoped it would be and MORE! Impressive legibility (the number one priority), it is a masterpiece of engineering and aesthetics. The build quality and finishing is TOP RATE! I would call this a "true instrument watch" with its separate hour and minute scales which are beautifully and precisely done, as is the unique design of the hour hand. The pocket-watch-styled onion crown is a pleasure to wind and it invites you to do so. This adds to the overall uniqueness of this watch. Seriously, when was the last time you saw a small second-hand sub-dial at the 12 o'clock position? I love it there. The domed sapphire crystal is distortion-free even when viewing at extreme angles thus retaining readability and it's also anti-glare coated. All these extra "desirable" touches are rare at this price. Truly an OUTSTANDING VALUE for the money and a great conversation/show piece too. Simply put, THIS WATCH IS AWESOME!
I am a true aficionado and collector of fine watches for nearly 30 years now. If you know watches you know the Unitas movement is rock-solid and will last for generations. The running rate is outstanding, as is the decoration of the movement; it is the "cherry on the top" for this piece. The fire blued screws (every single one) and Cote de Geneve are flawless. Even the mounting of the movement to the case is properly done. Their straps and buckles (with large screw-in pin = strong) are also TOP RATE! In my opinion, their value is even greater than that of the watches. I've been searching years for straps of this quality, thickness, style and options for my larger pieces and chronos and the low price is unbelievable! I have ordered three already plus the keychain, which is very cool by the way. Last but not least, even the standard box is beautiful from its full color aluminum logo on the cover to the red and black contrasting colors and stitched accents. I highly recommend the box upgrade as it too is an outstanding value, it's only $10 to $20 more than purchasing a second strap alone (this watch looks great on a black strap as well). As you can see I can't say enough about the quality, obvious value and customer service of the Debaufre Watch Co. I could go on and on…….Sorry, one last thing: When was the last time you called a watch company and spoke directly with the C.E.O. or V.P. and the phone was answered every time? Both of these knowledgeable gentlemen spent considerable time with me and were genuinely excited about what they are doing and their product. How refreshing."
