"Hello Debaufre fans!

I have been lurking here for awhile, and last week finally decided to take a chance and order a Debaufre Nav-B Classic with the Unitas movement. The watch arrived around lunchtime on Wednesday - 2 days after I ordered it - fast! Beautiful presentation box, the watch looked great, but I was at work and couldn't really enjoy it. So, I wound it up, set the time, and put it back in the box until the end of the day.

Fast-forward to 6:00 p.m. - ah, the end of the day, I can finally take a real look at my new watch! WHAT??!?! The watch had gained over 2 hours in the 5 hours it had set in the box! OK, maybe I had accidentally turned the crown when I put it back in the box. So, I reset the time and waited. Nope, it was running fast alright. About 15 - 20 minutes per hour fast! When I looked at the movement through the display back, it looked like the balance wheel was moving too slowly, and only rotating perhaps 90 - 100 degrees.

So, I called the Customer Service phone number on the warranty card and left a message describing the problem. It was perhaps 7:00 p.m., so I didn't really expect to hear anything until Thursday at the earliest.

Imagine my surprise when my phone rang a half-hour later, and an extremely apologetic Elsa from Debaufre Customer Service was on the line. She told me that several of the brand new Nav-B's she had were exhibiting this problem, and asked if I could send the watch back to her the following day so she could replace it with a new one that was functioning properly. Sure, no problem. The Unitas movement is a proven, reliable movement - like anything else, mechanical problems occasionally occur.

Fast forward again to the following morning (Thursday) - I stopped by the post office on my way to work to send the Debaufre Nav-B back to Elsa. Drove into work, fired up email, and there was an email from Elsa informing me that she was sending out a replacement Debaufre Nav-B via priority mail and it would arrive at my home on Saturday. I could wait to send the defective watch back until the new one arrived. (too late - I had already sent it back!)

Just as promised, the new Debaufre Nav-B arrived on Saturday. Perfect condition and runs like a champ! What a beautiful watch - I am a confirmed WIS and own a number of high-end watches (Rolex, Omega, GO, IWC and others). The Debaufre Nav-B Classic compares favorably in every way, and is a TREMENDOUS value at the price Debaufre asks. Considering that IWC charges over $10k for their Big Pilot (which is a gorgeous watch BTW), Debaufre could easily charge several times their current asking price for the Nav-B Classic and it would still be worth every penny.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my first experience with Debaufre. Tremendous customer service, and a very nice watch! In fact, I just placed a pre-order for a Limited Edition Flieger...!

Great job Debaufre!"
