The Truth Behind Swiss Watches & Timepieces
What big-name watch companies don't want you to know...
Can you own a Swiss Watch without breaking the bank?
Why are Swiss watches so expensive, how is it justified?
Is price synonymous quality, or can I own one without spending $2,500?
Affordable accuracy that won't cost you an "arm and a leg": Debaufre Swiss Watches.
The image that immediately comes to everyone's minds when they hear the words "Swiss Watch" or "European Timepiece" is that of a high quality instrument ordained for your wrist. The unfortunate usual accompanying condition with that quality Swiss wrist-watch is of course that of an empty coffer. A slightly more impending condition than being disorientated as to the current time is paying an arm and a leg for something on your wrist.
Be it for your job, your image or for your personal satisfaction, there's no denying that a Swiss watch does indeed add a certain bounce to your step, a certain confidence to your smile. Knowing you own a precision instrument, admired by others, is a pleasant encounter... but at what cost.
Why pay more than you have to for a Swiss watch
Upon closer examination, the cost points of some brand name watches fall away to reveal what you, the customer, are actually paying for. Sure there are exceptions which use the best materials; have developed their own movements and have a heritage and history to support a 500% price increase; however this is a short list.
The ETA 2824-2 (2824/2) is at the heart of many dive watches because it accepts various complications with ease and it's reasonably priced. Based on information gathered from the internet, many brands use the ETA 2824/2 movements in their watches or combine the 2824/2 as their base caliber in their slightly altered movement. It's simply amazing that these watches command a retail price for these various models of a "2824/2 watch" ranging from $1,200 to $4,500. Of course these companies have heritage and so forth, but worth 4x to 15x?
Our business standpoint, considered completely unorthodox by the conventional watch industry, dictates "more watch for the money", achieved by direct sales via the internet or telephone. We at Debaufre watches work with Revue Thommen to manufacture Swiss made timepieces, a company who has been in business since 1850 in the Watch Valley of Switzerland.
What does this change in the essence of the watch? Absolutely nothing. How does this affect you? Your retain more of your hard earned money. We use the industry renowned ETA movements in our wrist watches, which provide the same accuracy as the watch brands mentioned above, in conjunction with our other elements to create solid, high-quality Swiss watches for under $1,000.
To solidify our commitment to our wrist watches, we have an established Swiss Watch Service Center in Florida which usually turns around service issues in a matter of days, tops 2 weeks, for common issues. Combined with fast shipping and affordable prices, we have claimed a substantial market share for watches under $1,000.
Our name is circulated through out the watch forums and blogs as a testament to customer service and affordable quality watches. We're not making any claims that these are the best watches you will ever find, that would be silly, but for this price point, you usually find Quartz watches. There's nothing wrong with buying a Quartz watch for $400 at the mall, but if that same $400 can get you wearing an ETA powered Swiss made watch, well that's a no-brainer and logic wins out everytime.
Our timepiece collection includes favorites such as the Ocean-1 diver watch and the GMT Ocean-1 dual time zone watch; classics like the 47-mm Nav-B pilot watch and the 44-mm square Aircraft-8 watch; as well as new additions like the Le Mans racing watch and the 45-mm Triton diver watch. Please take a moment to view our entire collection to realize the quality and diversity of our Swiss watches.
"I have wanted to purchase another Swiss watch ever since the one my father gave me, as a college graduation present, got stolen when I was 26. I was devastated but I couldn't tell him. For years I had looked upon Swiss watches with longing eyes, but as a young professional, I simply couldn't afford to spend $2,000 on a watch. Last month my wife, knowing about my devastation, purchased a Gmt Ocean-1 watch from you guys for $540. When I opened the box, I was overwhelmed with joy. The quality of this watch is just amazing! Thank you!"
